Cast Nickel-Based Superalloy | γ′-Strengthened | IN 792

Inconel 792 is a γ′-strengthened, nickel-based cast superalloy specifically designed for high-temperature components in gas turbines and aero-engines. By utilizing elements such as Al, Ti, and Ta to form a high volume fraction of the γ′ strengthening phase, the alloy exhibits excellent creep strength, oxidation resistance, and microstructural stability at high temperatures ranging from approximately 900°C to 1000°C.

Inconel 792 is a high-end cast nickel-based superalloy; we do not maintain regular stock and manufacture strictly on a made-to-order basis. The estimated lead time is 45 working days, with a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of 1 tonne per batch. Please contact us to assess production feasibility for special specifications or urgent requirements. The price of IN 792 is influenced by alloying elements as well as forging and heat treatment requirements; the real-time quote from Lork Group represents the final price.

Lork Group supplies Inconel 792 plates, slabs, and custom-machined components to meet specific customer requirements, offering services that include chemical composition control, heat treatment, precision machining, and the provision of quality inspection documentation.

Inconel 792 plate is designed for service conditions involving ultra-high temperatures and high stress. The alloy is capable of continuous long-term operation at temperatures up to approximately 1000°C in oxidizing atmospheres and can withstand short-term thermal shocks at even higher temperatures. It exhibits a 1000-hour creep-rupture strength of approximately 140 MPa at 870°C, making it suitable for long-term, high-temperature load-bearing applications.

It is suitable for use in high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres (such as air or combustion environments), relying on a dense oxide layer-formed through the synergistic action of chromium and aluminum-to provide oxidation resistance. It also demonstrates good corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments containing corrosive media such as sulfur and chlorine.

The alloy exhibits excellent creep resistance under moderate to high stress levels within the 900–1000°C range, making it ideal for long-term, high-temperature load-bearing applications.

Conditions to avoid: Long-term use in strongly reducing atmospheres should be avoided. As this is a cast alloy, it has poor weldability; therefore, welding process parameters must be strictly controlled.
