Inconel 600 Sheet
Products Description
Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron solid-solution-strengthened alloy that cannot be hardened by aging; it can only be strengthened and hardened through cold working. Its high nickel content ensures excellent corrosion resistance under reducing conditions and renders it virtually immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, while its chromium content provides resistance to oxidation and sulfur compounds. Thanks to its high-temperature oxidation resistance, resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking, and good workability, it is widely used in the chemical processing, heat treatment, nuclear, and aerospace industries.
The product is available in forms such as sheet, strip, and foil.
Price and Size Reference
Standard size: Nickel plate Thickness: 0.3mm - 150.0mm
The reference export price for cold-rolled thin sheets (0.5–3.0 mm) is approximately US$60–70 per kilogram. Actual prices are significantly influenced by specifications, purchase volume, surface finish, and fluctuations in nickel prices.

Key Characteristics
High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance
Operates across a temperature range from cryogenic lows up to 1093°C (2000°F). It forms a dense oxide layer at high temperatures, offering oxidation resistance significantly superior to that of pure nickel.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Virtually immune to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments. It is among the most corrosion-resistant alloys available for use in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride atmospheres and exhibits good resistance to organic acids such as acetic acid and formic acid.
Fabrication and Welding
Possesses good cold and hot formability; cold-forming characteristics are similar to those of chromium-nickel stainless steels. It offers excellent weldability and can be welded using conventional methods such as TIG and MIG.

Key Points

Strength Level: The room-temperature tensile strength of annealed Inconel 600 sheet typically ranges from 550 to 800 MPa. Actual strength is influenced by thickness; sheets exhibit slightly higher strength than thicker plates or bars, a difference attributed to work hardening during rolling and grain refinement.
Strengthening Mechanism: Inconel 600 cannot be strengthened by age hardening; its strength can only be increased through cold working. In the cold-rolled, work-hardened condition, tensile strength can reach 830–1035 MPa, though elongation decreases significantly.
