Cobalt Alloy Coil Strip Foil Manufacturing Process

Stellite 12 Cobalt Alloy

Melting:

The raw materials used to produce a cobalt alloy bar, such as cobalt, chromium, and other alloying elements, are melted in a furnace. The furnace is typically an induction furnace or an electric arc furnace, which can reach temperatures of up to 1700°C.

ASTM F1537 Alloy 1 Bar

Forging:

The casting is then heated to a high temperature and placed in a forging press. The press applies pressure to the casting, which reshapes it into the desired shape and size. This process can improve the mechanical properties of the material by aligning the grain structure and reducing porosity.
