AISI 321 Stainless Steel Pipe (UNS S32100)
Stainless 321 is a chromium-nickel steel that was developed with improved intergranular corrosion resistance.
AISI 321 is resistant to atmospheric corrosion, sterilizing solutions, many organic chemicals, and a wide variety of inorganic chemicals.
AISI 321 pipe is made from an austenitic stainless steel offering excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800 to 1500°F (427 to 816°C). Alloy 321 stainless steel is resistant to chromium carbide formation due to the addition of titanium.
Type 321 stainless is an austenitic steel alloy with added titanium, which acts as a stabiliser. The titanium content is typically five times that of the carbon content, and this addition reduces carbide precipitation during welding and improves elevated working temperature properties.
Type 321 offers excellent resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion. The alloy also possesses good creep strength. It can be readily formed or drawn,n though it is more difficult to form than other austenitic grades. Type 321 has usage in a wide range of applications including Oil & Gas, petrochemical, aerospace,ce and general industry.
