ASTM B575 Hastelloy C-4 Nickel Alloy Strip Description
Hastelloy C-4 is a high-temperature, intergranular corrosion-resistant nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy. With its ultra-low carbon and titanium-stabilized chemical composition, it exhibits excellent thermal stability and superior corrosion resistance at temperatures ranging from 650°C to 1040°C.
After purchasing our ASTM B575 Hastelloy C-4 Nickel Alloy Strip, some buyers often machine the material. However, due to its strong tendency to work harden, Hastelloy C-4 Nickel Alloy Strip is recommended for machining in the annealed state. Use lower cutting speeds and higher feed rates to allow the tool to penetrate beneath the work-hardened surface layer.

Cold Working:
Work Hardening: Hastelloy C-4 nickel alloy has a high work hardening rate. Therefore, during processes such as cold rolling, if significant deformation occurs, intermediate annealing may be required. If cold working deformation exceeds 15%, a secondary solution treatment is recommended. Please note that cold working should be performed in the solution-annealed state.
Heat Treatment:
Solution Treatment: Standard solution treatment temperatures range from 1050°C to 1100°C. For a thin-gauge strip, water quenching or rapid air cooling is recommended to ensure optimal corrosion resistance.
