Inconel 617 Nickel Alloy Strip (UNS N06617)
Product Introduction
Inconel 617 nickel alloy is an "all-around material" that offers high-temperature stability and toughness, solid-solution strengthening, high strength and creep resistance, strong oxidation resistance, excellent oxidation and hot-corrosion resistance, and precipitation strengthening during long-term high-temperature service.
The Inconel 617 Nickel Alloy Strip conforms to ASTM B168 (sheet and strip) and AMS 5887/5888/5889 (specific product form standards). Lork Group typically stocks strips with thicknesses ranging from 0.5-80mm, widths from 0.5-3 meters, and lengths from 1-6 meters. Custom thicknesses, widths, and lengths are generally available.
The minimum order quantity for Inconel 617 alloy is 50kg for standard sizes; other sizes are subject to customization. The general reference price is approximately RMB 180-230 per kilogram. Please get in touch with us for a real-time quote.
Practical Procurement Advice
Based on Lork Group's past procurement of Inconel 617 Nickel Alloy Strip and project cooperation experience, the following four points may help your procurement plan proceed smoothly:
1. Confirm Standards and Certifications:
Determine the actual specifications of the material, production standards, and other special requirements based on your actual working environment. Request clear material certification from suppliers to ensure the product meets the required standards and specifications (e.g., ASTM B168).
2. Clarify Requirements and Budget:
Clearly explain to suppliers your requirements for the strip's delivery condition (e.g., annealed, solution-treated), appearance (e.g., bright finish, pickled finish), precise dimensions, and tolerances. As a high-performance alloy, Inconel 617 is significantly more expensive than ordinary steel. The specific price is affected by specifications, purchase volume, and market supply and demand; therefore, it is necessary to compare quotes from multiple suppliers in real time.
Manufacturing Process and Challenges
Machining Inconel 617 requires attention to its characteristics. Here are some key guidelines:
1. Machining: Inconel 617 is a difficult material to machine, which is why thinner and narrower Inconel 617 strips are more expensive to machine.
2. Welding: Inconel 617 alloy has good weldability and can meet most general welding requirements. Conventional welding methods, such as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding can be used. (Note: Traditional fusion welding may lead to brittle phases and cracks in the weld zone and heat-affected zone. For components with high requirements, special techniques such as transient liquid phase diffusion welding can be considered.)
