Delivery status
In January 2026, Locke Group completed an order for Invar 32 precision alloy discs exported to Malaysia, once again demonstrating our unwavering commitment to precision alloy material standards and our ability to address customer application challenges and meet their needs. These alloy discs are manufactured strictly in accordance with ASTM F1684 standards and come in only one size: 110mm x 10mm. They are delivered in black. All samples have undergone our rigorous, standardized, and professional production and inspection processes. Every step ensures that the final product passes all quality tests before delivery.
Based on customer feedback, the Invar 32 discs were used to test their suitability for use in the customer's new optical frames and mounting systems, for securing precision optical components such as lenses, mirrors, and filters. The customer hopes to try our machining services next, as the discs can be directly machined into spacers, rings, or support structures for the mount, ensuring the long-term stability of the optical system. Therefore, the initial sample only identifies part of the issues, and further collaboration may require the participation of our engineers and the machining center in the project.
Our product range is not limited to cobalt alloy round bars, but also covers the full range of invar 32 products, including plates, strips, wires, tubes, and related processed parts. We strictly adhere to international standards such as ASTM, EN, and AMS, ensuring that all Invar 32 products are of superior quality, offer highly competitive prices, and deliver quickly.
Note: Due to customer privacy and confidentiality regulations, we have modified some details regarding the products supplied by Lork Group. Please contact us for more detailed product information.
Finished product display
After the invar 32 Alloy disc are manufactured, we conduct quality inspections, perform appropriate cleaning based on the surface finish of the bars, and measure the diameter of the upper and lower ends, as well as the length, to ensure they meet customer requirements.

Premium packaging
Based on the characteristics of Invar 32 material and the customer's air freight requirements, we chose to use simple packaging to prevent wear and tear and for uniform packaging for air freight transportation.

Large-scale measurement
In principle, diameter tolerance testing should be performed on steel bars of different specifications from the same batch to ensure they are within the customer's required range.

Tolerance measurement
During the sampling and secondary inspection of Invar 32 discs, the entire process must be photographed and recorded to facilitate data comparison and traceability.

Length measurement
We use calibrated kilogram scales to tare and measure the actual weight of each piece. We also allow for a suitable amount of excess material because our customers require further processing.
These four samples are the customer's initial test samples, and the customer is still conducting application tests after receiving the goods. Therefore, only a portion of the illustrations is shown here. For more technical specifications, documents, videos, or images of Invar 32, please contact us online!

Invar Alloy
We supply Invar alloy in the form of bars, plates, tubes, coils, strips, wires, forgings, and more.
Lork Group Procurement Notes:
Based on our experience, when inquiring or placing an order, clearly specify the applicable standard (e.g., ASTM F30/F1684), the required condition (e.g., solution treated), the dimensional tolerance grade, and inspection requirements (e.g., ultrasonic testing level).
Due to its difficult machinability, consider whether the supplier offers pre-machining or semi-finishing services to reduce subsequent manufacturing costs and risks.
Typical Uses of Circular Wafers:
The "circular wafers" we refer to typically come in the following forms and subsequent processing:
Raw Material Blanks: Circular wafers cut from bar stock for further processing by the user.
Precision Gaskets/Washers: Gaskets machined to specific thicknesses and inner/outer diameters for adjusting gaps or providing thermal expansion insulation.
Substrate/Platforms: Surfaces that have been ground, polished, or even coated to become platforms for mounting other components.
Structural Components: Combined with other materials as a stabilizing element in composite structures.
Key Reasons for Choosing Invar 32:
Extremely Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: At room temperature (typically 20-100°C), its coefficient of thermal expansion can be as low as ~1.5 x 10⁻⁶ /K, far lower than ordinary steel (~11 x 10⁻⁶ /K), and even superior to stainless steel.
Dimensional Stability: After appropriate heat treatment (aging treatment), its long-term dimensional changes are minimal.
Excellent machinability: Although relatively sticky, it can be precision machined using turning, milling, grinding, drilling, and other techniques.
Weldability: It can be welded using specific processes such as electron beam welding and laser welding.
In summary, when your design faces the risk of failure or error primarily due to thermal expansion and contraction, Invar 32 discs are an excellent solution. Its applications span almost all cutting-edge technology fields, making it an unsung hero behind precision engineering.
We aspire to be your "Precision Materials Engineering Team," helping you resolve issues related to materials applications in precision engineering. Please contact us if you are interested.
