Product Introduction

Our common Incoloy 801 nickel alloy bars are available in diameters of 6-500mm and lengths of 0.5-30m. The reference price is generally around 190-310 RMB/kg (subject to market fluctuations, specifications, and purchase volume; please contact us for real-time confirmation).

Incoloy 801 nickel alloy possesses exceptional corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance. Its anti-oxidation and anti-carburization properties ensure its stability in high-temperature environments. It also resists corrosion from sulfuric acid and caustic alkali solutions. This is why you should clearly communicate the product's operating environment (such as temperature, medium, and stress conditions) so that we can provide more targeted recommendations.

Materials Market Feedback

To ensure the reliability of the Incoloy 801 nickel alloy bar stock you purchase, we offer the following practical suggestions:

1. Delivery condition: e.g., annealed, solution-treated, etc. This affects the material's mechanical properties and subsequent processing.

2 . Appearance condition: e.g., machined, polished, etc., relating to the surface condition of the bar stock.

3. Quality standards and material certification: Confirm the quality standards for material production (e.g., ASTM, ASME, etc.) and obtain the material certification (MTC).

4. Specifications and price: Specify the diameter, length, and tolerances of the bar stock. Regarding price, it depends on the minimum order quantity and packaging; other customized items require negotiation.

Special reminder: It is recommended that you obtain a sample for testing first: especially for critical high-temperature parts, you may need to purchase a small sample of Alloy 800 for machining testing to confirm that the cutting performance and heat treatment response are not problematic before placing a large order....

Manufacturing Process and Challenges

When handling Incoloy 801 nickel alloy bars, the following points require special attention:

Heat Treatment: To obtain optimal high-temperature performance and corrosion resistance, Incoloy 801 nickel bars are typically solution annealed at around 1093°C, followed by rapid cooling.

Machining: This material has a tendency to work harden during machining. Therefore, we recommend that customers use carbide cutting tools and employ lower cutting speeds and higher feed rates to reduce work hardening and extend tool life.

Quality Inspection

Whether Incoloy 801 alloy bars pass quality inspection depends on the quality testing of the bars.

We adhere to the principle of inspecting every shipment. Basic inspections include dimensional tolerance measurement, hardness testing, and chemical composition analysis using a spectrometer for Incoloy 801. Physical properties and non-destructive testing are optional and subject to separate payment depending on the customer's specific requirements.

1. Chemical Composition Report: We review the spectroscopic analysis report (using a handheld spectrometer) for the Incoloy 801 bars. Pay close attention to titanium (Ti), ensuring it is ≥1.1%. Materials with less than 1.0% Ti have questionable resistance to polysulfides.

2. Mechanical Properties: We examine the yield strength and elongation. If intended for high-temperature applications, request high-temperature tensile or high-temperature creep data from the supplier (depending on whether your sample material requires this testing).

3. Hardness Testing: Alloy 801 bars are typically tested using Brinell hardness (HB) or Rockwell hardness (HRB/HRC). Using a hardness tester, the result in a typical hardness of around 180 HB in the solution-treated state.

4. Non-destructive Testing:

Ultrasonic Testing: For large-diameter bars or critical components, check for internal cracks and inclusions.

Surface Testing: Dye testing can be requested to check for surface micro-cracks.

5. Basic Dimensional Tolerance Measurement: For Alloy 801 machined bars, measure the diameter with a micrometer. For black-coated bars, pay attention to the negative diameter tolerance. Straightness should also be checked, especially for slender bars.
