Hastelloy G30 Alloy Bar
Hastelloy G30 alloy bar (UNS N06030) is a nickel-chromium-iron material highly re- sistant to the hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid solutions that are utilized in the stainless steel pickling. This specific application includes dilute 15% nitric acid and 5% hydrofluoric acid at temperature of 140oF or60oC. It also offers superior resistance to the industrial phosphoric acid. The use of alloy has been increasing in the fertilizer industry for acid evaporators.
Hastelloy G30 alloy bar is basically the same as other high alloys in regard to formability. It is generally stiffer than an austenitic. Because of its good ductility, cold working is relatively easy and is the preferred method of forming. The alloy is easily weldable using Gas-Tungsten Arc, Gas Metal Arc and shielded Metal Arc.
