Elgiloy (UNS R30003, ASTM F1058, ISO 5832-7; domestic grade 3J21) is a cobalt-chromium-nickel-molybdenum-based precipitation-hardening alloy. Revered as the "King of Elasticity" within the medical device sector, it is the material of choice for high-strength, highly corrosion-resistant spring components.

The general rule for Elgiloy is: form it first, then heat treat it. If you do it the other way around, it is essentially impossible to work with.
