ASTM B168 Inconel 600 Strip

Inconel 600 Strip is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy strip designed for applications requiring corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and reliable performance at elevated temperatures. With a nickel content of at least 72% and chromium content of 14–17%, it provides good resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking, alkaline environments, and high-temperature oxidation.

Manufactured in accordance with ASTM B168, Inconel 600 Strip is typically produced through cold rolling and can be supplied in coils or cut lengths. It is suitable for stamping, forming, fabrication, and the production of precision industrial components.

Processing & Fabrication of Inconel 600 Strip

Precision Slitting

Inconel 600 Strip can be slit from wider coils into narrow strips with customized widths and controlled edge quality to meet different manufacturing requirements.

Stamping & Forming

In the annealed condition, Inconel 600 Strip offers good ductility and can be processed through stamping, punching, and bending to produce precision industrial components.

Welding & Joining

Inconel 600 Strip can be joined using suitable welding processes, such as TIG and MIG welding. Proper filler materials and welding procedures should be selected according to the application.

Processing Note: Inconel 600 undergoes work hardening during cold deformation. For extensive forming operations, intermediate annealing may be required to maintain ductility and prevent forming difficulties.
