Hastelloy G-35 Pipe(UNS N06035)

Hastelloy G-35 pipe (UNS N06035) is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant product specifically developed for wet-process phosphoric acid (WPA) evaporators and highly oxidizing acidic environments. Developed based on G-30 alloy by increasing chromium content and optimizing trace element balance, it has become a benchmark material for critical piping systems in industries such as phosphate chemical engineering, nuclear fuel reprocessing, and petrochemicals.

G-35 alloy pipe is available in both seamless and welded forms, fully meeting piping requirements under various pressure ratings and temperature conditions.

Tests conducted in actual process solutions demonstrate that G-35 alloy pipe performs significantly better than other metallic materials in acidic environments. Its uniform corrosion rate is typically much lower than that of 316L stainless steel, Alloy 20, Hastelloy C-276, and G-30 alloy pipe. This significantly extends the service life of evaporator tube bundles and reduces the frequency of downtime maintenance.

The high chromium and molybdenum content endows it with excellent resistance to localized corrosion, and its critical crevice corrosion temperature (CCT) is much higher than that of G-30 or 625 alloy pipe. Effectively resists stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides-a property superior to all austenitic stainless steel pipes.

Pipe manufacturing process

Vacuum induction melting

Dual-process smelting

The production of high-quality G-35 alloy typically employs a dual-process method combining vacuum induction melting (VIM) with electroslag remelting (ESR) or vacuum arc remelting (VAR) to achieve extremely high purity.

Hot forming

Seamless tubes are primarily formed through hot extrusion. The temperature window for hot forming is narrow; for example, during forging, the recommended initial forging temperature is 1204°C, and the final forging temperature should not be lower than 954°C to ensure deformation is completed within the appropriate range.

Hot working
annealing

Cold drawing/rolling and intermediate annealing:

After hot extrusion, the tube undergoes multiple passes of cold drawing or cold rolling to reach the final dimensions, with strictly controlled solution annealing required between each pass. The final product is delivered in a cold-rolled + bright annealed state to ensure surface finish and dimensional accuracy; for example, the surface roughness can be controlled to Ra ≤ 0.4μm.

Actual product performance is subject to the Material Testing Certificate (MTC) and the technical agreement signed by both parties.
