Products Description
Lork Group high-quality Inconel 617(UNS N06617, W.Nr. 2.4663) is a solid-solution, nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy with an exceptional combination of high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance. The alloy also has excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, and it is readily formed and welded by conventional techniques.
The high nickel and chromium contents make the alloy resistant to a variety of both reducing and oxidizing media. The aluminum, in conjunction with the chromium, provides oxidation resistance at high temperatures. Solid-solution strengthening is imparted by the cobalt and molybdenum.

Key properties
(in annealed condition)
Tensile strength: 109.50
Yield strength: 55.60
Elongation: 56.00%
Hardness: 193.00
High Temperature Strength
Alloy 617 exhibits exceptional strength and stability at elevated temperatures. It maintains its mechanical properties at temperatures up to approximately 1,200°C (2,200°F), making it suitable for applications in high-temperature environments such as gas turbines, petrochemical processing, and heat-treating equipment.
Oxidation Resistance
Alloy 617 offers excellent resistance to oxidation, allowing it to withstand harsh oxidizing environments, including air and oxygen-rich atmospheres. The formation of a protective oxide layer on the surface helps prevent further oxidation and degradation of the material.
Creep Rupture Strength
Alloy 617 demonstrates good resistance to creep deformation, which is the tendency of a material to slowly deform under prolonged exposure to high temperatures and stress. Its high creep rupture strength makes it suitable for applications that require long-term structural integrity at elevated temperatures.
Corrosion Resistance
Alloy 617 exhibits good resistance to a variety of corrosive environments, including sulfur-containing atmospheres, nitriding conditions, and oxidizing/reducing conditions encountered in chemical processing. It is also resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking.
Weldability
Alloy 617 has good weldability and can be joined using various welding techniques. Proper welding procedures and filler metals suitable for high-temperature applications should be used to maintain the desired properties and corrosion resistance of the alloy.
