AISI 4130 Alloy Steel Bar (UNS G41300)
AISI 4130 alloy bar is valued for its versatility, strength, and adaptability to heat treatment, making it a preferred choice in high-stress, lightweight applications across industries.
AISI 4130 alloy bar is a low-alloy C-steel containing chromium and molybdenum as strengthening agents. It has low carbon content, and hence it can be welded easily. It is supplied as a round bar, commonly in the hardened and tempered condition with a hardness of max. 22 HRC.

Key Properties
High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Ideal for weight-sensitive applications.
Toughness: Retains impact resistance even after heat treatment.
Hardenability: Can be heat-treated to achieve a range of mechanical properties.
Fatigue Resistance: Suitable for cyclic loading applications (e.g., aerospace components).
Machinability: Fair in normalized condition; improves with annealing.
Weldability: Requires preheating (300–400°F) and post-weld heat treatment to avoid cracking.
-
Key Properties
Annealing: Heated to 872°C (1600°F), slow-cooled for machinability.
Quenching & Tempering: Austenitized at 843–927°C (1550–1700°F), oil-quenched, then tempered (205–649°C / 400–1200°F) to balance strength and toughness.
