Products Description
Lork Group high-quality Hastelloy G (UNS N06007) comprised mainly of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper, offers exceptional resistance to oxidation and localized corrosion, making it ideal for use in environments with high temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and corrosive gases. Tailored for demanding industrial applications.
This alloy's high nickel content provides excellent strength and ductility, even at elevated temperatures, while chromium enhances its resistance to oxidation. Molybdenum and copper additions further bolster its resistance to corrosion in reducing environments and against localized attack, such as pitting and crevice corrosion.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability
Can be machined using conventional techniques employed for iron based alloys. The quality of the alloy can be improved with the utilization of water-base coolants. Heavy duty machining tools and equipment can be used prior to cutting in order to reduce chattering or work-hardening of the alloy.
Forming
Can be formed through conventional forming methods.
Welding
Welding of Hastelloy G is performed through commonly used welding techniques like gas tungsten arc welding, shielded metal-arc welding, metal-arc welding and submerged-arc welding. However, an alloy filler metal that suits this alloy should be used.
Forging
Can be forged at 927 to 1149ºC (1700 to 2100ºF).
Cold working
Can be cold worked using standard tooling methods. As plain carbon steels has an ability to produce galling, they are not preferred for forming Hastelloy G. Galling can be minimized with the help of heavy duty lubricants.
Annealing
Annealing of Hastelloy G can be performed at 1177ºC (2150ºF) followed by rapid cooling of air and water quenching.
Hardening
Can be hardened by cold working.
Applications
Applications of Hastelloy G span across diverse industries, including chemical processing, aerospace, power generation, and marine environments. It finds extensive use in components such as reactor vessels, heat exchangers, valves, and piping systems where reliability, longevity, and safety are paramount. Its ability to maintain performance under extreme conditions ensures operational efficiency and durability, making Hastelloy G a preferred choice for critical applications requiring superior corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength.
